We pray you and your families had a Joyful and Blessed Easter! We are happy to welcome our many new subscribers over the last few weeks, we are happy you are here and support our mission!
It’s been an incredibly busy few weeks for us at CoG. Researching, studying, pulling from old and new sources, answering inquiries & pressing forward to obtain ethical alternatives from Japan.
We are in the 25th year of Children of God for Life’s Founding and the 20th Anniversary of the issuance of the much anticipated Document from the Vatican/ Pontifical Academy for Life . As someone who came to this issue{2002} and as a distraught Mother, of then 5 children, sought help from CoG and namely it’s Founder Debi Vinnedge, this year has not only forced me to jump back in with my running shoes, but it has also given me a time to give some serious reflection on where we were then and where we are now and everything that CoG set out to accomplish. It would never ever have been possible without prayer, and A LOT of it. Debi had written about this many times over the years, and she truly put it best when she stated:
“I can never take credit for the success that would follow, knowing fully well Who is really in charge around here! Every time I have felt myself failing, every time I became discouraged, every time I thought no one was listening, God has put someone in my path to help me. Every time! He has never failed me. And even though I sometimes think He is awfully slow to respond, I have come to realize everything happens according to His perfect timing.”

We will be posting more often in the upcoming weeks, todays update will be brief, as we have much to cover with commentary and updates regarding: yes- the news cycle; yes-exemptions and the status of current projects.
The headlines were nonstop as of late with the following:
Over the last 20 years we have heard this repeated over and over again. Snopes, Fact Check and the News media downplaying or rather “playing on words” regarding residual components of the aborted fetal cell lines being present in vaccines and medicines.

To all those making inquiries regarding medications, please know we do our very best to try to get a quick turnaround in our research though sometimes its not always possible. It’s very disheartening when you see a headline like this:
Bishop Brennan stated to the media that the Catholic Church teaches that Catholics may receive vaccines and vaccinate their children with a clear conscience.
Conscience, as the Catechism states:
1776 Deep within his conscience man discovers a law which he has not laid upon himself but which he must obey. Its voice ever calling him to love and to do what is good and to avoid evil, sounds in his heart at the right moment…For man has in his heart a law inscribed by God…His conscience is man’s most secret core and sanctuary. There he is alone with God whose voice echoes in his depths.
Conscience is Primordial. No other man can dictate another’s conscience. That is between him and God alone.
The document from the Pontifical Academy for Life did NOT say parents could vaccinate their children with a clear conscience, what we have here is a play on words. Perhaps the media, as we showed above in the RFK Jr post, got it wrong. Nevertheless, we must offer a bit of clarity here.
Let’s take a look at what the Vatican Document actually says:

So far, it’s quite clear that the Vatican is upholding a parent’s RIGHT to abstain IF it can be done without causing other children and mother’s harm.

Let’s look further:
It is CLEAR that parents do NOT commit sin IF they choose to vaccinate their children.
It is CLEAR that parents CAN ABSTAIN and make an OBJECTION OF CONSCIENCE.
Again, Conscience is Primordial.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops/ USCCB has gotten countless inquiries since 2005. While each Diocese is able to make their own policy in accords to state laws and Bishops rightful authority over their own Sees, the USCCB issued a Document urging Catholic institutions to grant exemptions.

In summary:
It has been 20 years since the Vatican Document was released. Many Diocese that used to grant exemptions, no longer do. Many Diocese who never granted them, now do. It has been our absolute privilege to work with individual Bishops, Clergy, Educators, Administrators, Health Care Professionals, Medical Associations, Pro Life Organizations, Parishes and families to help educate on this matter. That has been our mission from day one.
